I've been using Fender Super Bass 8250 bass strings since I purchased my '08' MIA Fender Jazz V from Musician's Friend in May '08'. These by far are the best strings for this bass. I've used other brands, but I'm sold on the 8250's because the taperwound E and low B fit perfectly into the bridge saddles of the Jazz Bass. They last a very long time and sound very solid. The 8250's are the only strings I use on all my basses that have a string thru body feature. Also, you can't beat the price, seriously $22.99 for a decent set of 5 string bass strings is a great bargain. Thank you Musician's Friend for supplying such a nice set of strings at a great price tag.

I bought an 07 MIA Jazz V and loved it. However after I changed the strings on the bass it didn't sound as good. I tried SIT's, D'Addario's, Ernie ball Slinky's and Power slinkys, and Dr. High beams and none of them sounded good. Here's the reason, the B and E strings weren't tapered. My B and E barely sustained anymore. I thought it was the bass, and I was about to get rid of it. However my local guitar shop recommended these since they probably came with them on it and they are incredible! My bass sounds like it used to now.

Also, these give you the sound of nickel with the life of stainless. It's win win!

I've been using the 8250 taper-wounds on my Fender Roscoe Beck V for years. They happen to be the strings that Fender strings it with at the factory, which is something of a surprise - OEM stings are not usually this good. I tried several brands when I first got the bass (including an expensive set of Ken Smith strings - the E string broke after about a week) but always came back to the Fender 8250's. I play lots of styles and can get a great range of tones from these strings - from James Jamerson thump to Chris Squire bite. Highly recommended.

I've been a pro player for 40 years(yes kids,before you were born,my dad knew Leo Fender when he only built P.A. sets)These Fender 8250s are great. Very bright sounding without being harsh. I get lots of sustain as well. I wouldn't use anything else

I use these strings on my Fender American J-Bass 5-string. I wasn't originally able to find these at my local music store, so i bought some D'Addario ones. The lower two strings on those never sat correctly on the bridge. But the taperwound E and B string in this set make the string very small at the bottom, perfect for fitting into the bridge groove. The strings also sound great, and last a good amount of time before sounding dead. (That time depends how much you play, I play at least an hour every day, I need new strings every month) I would reccomend these strings highly, especially if using Fender 5-strings.
