I have used flatwounds on my semi hollow body basses since the 60's. Great sound and no finger noise. Now I put some on my Jazz bass and its a completly differnt instrument(and easier on my fingers).

These strings are awesome. When you first put them on, you get a piano-like, very punchy tone, like most strings. This indicates that it's brand new and very clean. But I prefer the tone of it when it's dirty and has grime and dead skin all over it. This comes after about 3 days after putting them on. The 'dirty' tone is a bassy, punchy (punchy, not trebley) tone, which is awesome for metal. I mainly play Metallica and Green Day covers, and the tone of the strings are alone is comparable to Mike Dirnt's vintage tone. But for those who prefer the "brand new" tone, the strings can easily be wiped down. Just a couple of quick wipes every couple of days will keep these in tip-top condition. However, I don't recommend these for slapping and popping, as they E string tends to rattle a lot when slapping, even with high tension. Bu, these strings suit me well.

These on my Fender Jazz Bass is the best and only combination I will ever use. My strings are 6 months old and still sound amazing. Fat tone and incredible feel. you should use these on any Fender Bass or any bass you wish.

Just as good as Jamerson

These are just as good as the La Bella Jamerson strings. They are a little brighter right out of the box and may take a little longer to break in - but once they do they sound beautiful. The G string is also a little thivker on the Fenders than the La Bellas making it sound more balanced with the other strings. Strongly reccomended.
