Classic Tele - Watch the screws..

Fantastic sound and well worth the price. This is the sound most people imagine when they think Tele's. One note, the wiring diagram is wrong. The wire colors do not match the actual pup wires. Awesome quality - huge gauge wires for great contact, but watch out for the brass plate on the bottom of the bridge pup - it will come off the base of the pup and has a soldered ground on it from the factory. WOrk the screws into the holes prior to final placement in the bridge position - otherwise they don't fit well and can push the bottom plate off. Just a word to the wise.

Love My Tele

I put a set of thes in my Mexican Tele about 2 1/2 years ago. A bit tedious removing old solder work, but not too bad. The sound is phenominal. I looked at a set of EMG actives (have them in my Strat) but really felt they would take away from the character of a Tele. My Tele and my Les Paul share equal time when I perform. I rarely take the Strat out (along with all the others). I am very pleased with the sound of these pickups. They have the bite one expects bout also have fantastic depth. I play my Tele through a Vox tube mostly and could not be happier with it. Oh yeah, the guitar screams through my Marshall. I do run a Boss noise supressor with it. My only complaint it with the wiring in the places we play, not with the pickups.

Installed these in a MIM ash tele. Wow!! The stock pups were generic sounding, tried lace sensors, neck pup was bland, bridge pup was tinny. Put these in with a 4-way switch, new pots and cap. Wide range of tones with the twang and power that a tele should have. Not identical as an American tele, but more varity of sound.

I put these pickups in a 02 Nashville Tele, and they are *EXACTLY* that twangy country sound that everyone looks for and rarely finds. Much fatter and punchier than stock pickups and sound like pure heaven when they're run with just a little breakup drive. Beat the heck out of my Highway One Texas Tele for tone so I sold that thing and kept the Mexican Nashville. Buy 'em and you will NOT be disappointed.

Forget Tex-Mex. Go Tex American!

I have a 1990 American Standard Tele that I was never totally happy with the sound of. I needed to add a few effects to get close to the right sound & punch I wanted. Even then, I didn't feel the guitar had the power I was looking for. My ideal sound was a clean Telecaster without ANY effects. That was far from accomplished with the old pickups. It always sounded thin & tinny. I bought these and also got the 4-way switch that a few of you recommended... OMG! It's a totally different guitar. With the 4-way switch, I have 4 distinct sounds and all of them pure Telecaster. I've gained a harder, fatter and more aggressive edge while retaining the clean tones. The Fender Custom Shop went way above and beyond with these pups. I can't speak for MIMs, but put these babies in your American made and fall in love with the Tele all over again. It'll be impossible to put it down once you plug these in. Do NOT forget to get the 4-way switch.
