I feel this is a Great Product . I have them on all 10 of my guitars . My Vintage Peavey T-40 weighs 12 pounds , and I've never had any problems . I do keep a 6" cresent wrench handy to tighten the bolts . It's good to check them every now and then. Also you can bye the buttons only if you what to use the same strap .That will save you 10 bucks .I've never tried any other brand because I've had such good luck with these. If the original screws are bigger then the new ones , put a drop of Elmers Glue in the hole , and break off a wooden toothpick . That will make the hole smaller ,and you'll never see it.

To the person that said the screws were too small and might come out, I have had these on my strat for years and have never had a problem. If the screws that came with it dont match the threads on your current guitar then by all means use the ones that were already installed on your guitar....just common sense and that's what i did. I swear, there are a lot of folks out there missing the simplest of common mechanical sense. It does not warrent putting down a peice of gear just because you have to use a socket and wrench to install it or maybe use your head a little. No matter what brand of lock is out there, i wouldn't put it on without using a socket and wrench to tighten it. Also, install them were they cradle the strap button underneath in your playing position. Not upside down like a buddy of mine who also bashes them now. He's goofy as well. Some folks need to know what it is like to work for a living. You learn a whole lot more that applies to a lot of things in life, even Guitar. These so called flimsy screws that come in it, ya'lled fuss if they weren't there....."Didn't come with screws!!
What do i do???? AHHHHHHGGGGGGGG!!!!" If it means anything, i just ordered 2 more sets and aint worried about em one bit.

Poor Product, Get Dunlops

The screws are too small for standard screws that guitar strap hookups come with. Second of all they will not lock. The front strap came off multiple times, including the time I was standing off and my guitar fell and bruised the top of my foot pretty badly. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of these. Get dunlops.

These are Schaller straplocks being sold by Fender. They're good locks, but I prefer Dunlop. I use these for my guitars, but all my basses have Dunlops. I use to worry about the nut coming off, but if you get yourself a set of deepwell sockets and tighten the nut enough, there shouldn't be a problem. My guitarists who have used these have all had to dig into my tool box to find parts for these. With Dunlops, I've never had a problem.

Love Fender products but not these

I'll admit I'm a Fender guy...Have several Fender guitars, use their strings, straps, etc, so naturally it was a no-brainer to purchase three sets of these at my local guitar shop to replace the stock strap buttons and I had issues with two of the three packages...One package had a button that wasn't beveled so it wouldn't hold the strap lock on. Another package had a strap lock that didn't depress far enough for it too lock. Two out of three may not be bad in some things, but two out of three defective packages is enough for me to go with a different brand.
