This pickup requires significant pressure from the strings on the saddle; likely to be why the classical guitarist was not happy. Without the pressure, you'll get a hum, or fuzzy signal. So use this only for steel stringed guitars. Don't go to Martin Goldplus; it's the same pickup. I have installed these in my Martin D-41, D12-35, Guild G-37, and Yamaha F-310. Been using them for more than 10 years. Have the similar Fishman resophonic pickup in my dobro. Hassle-free high-quality acoustic sounding pickup. Just figure whether or not you need the bass boosting model (II) or the regular (I). Best of all, it's the preferred source for the Fishman AURA, which creates the sound of your guitar through a studio mic. I liked the idea of blending in a soundhole mic, but was put off by the cost of adding mics to 4 guitars. the AURA will probably give me better results, and all four instruments can use the same box, just with different saved settings.

GREAT

This is the only pickup I would stick in my guitar. I actually have a Martin Thinline gold plus nt1, but the two are basically the same—Martin gets the pickups from Fishman. The pickup sounds great—incredibly natural. It responds to picking dynamics better than any magnetic pickup I've tried, including the Rare Earth Humbucker. Note—IT MUST BE INSTALLED CORRECTLY. Don't let you're ego get in the way—if you don't have enough experience, don't try to install it yourself. If you don't know what you're doing, this will cost you more money than hiring a tech to do it for you. I have been performing on this pickup for 7 years, and it has never failed me.

Tried several other differant peizo style pickups, installing them myself in both my Taylor and Martin and this Matrix Natural series by far takes the cake! The version 1 and 2 are equally the best bang for your buck. If you are classical, solo acoustic or of that nature try the Natural 1, but if you play in a loud auditorium style inviroment cranked all the way up, then the 2 series is the way to go. Good luck and never stop playing!

My ibanez 7 string acoustic came with this already built in.It sounds great and I use it with effects that I thought would sound terrible with an acoustic, but they sound just like an electric would.I would reccomend buying this.

I just recently had this nifty little item installed in my Taylor 210. I was expecting mediocrity, but boy was I wrong. I was pleasantly surprised when I took the guitar out of its case and plugged it in. There was no backfeed, and the sound was crisp, still holding the acoustic sound quality.
