Sounds Great

Balanced top to bottom - this pickup allows my acoustic guitar to sound acoustic. I bought this to install into a modified/enhanced 000 Martin kit. I test drove it in my 1987 D16M and the sound is fantastic. Super low noise, accurately tuned and really responsive. I can't wait to get it to my luthier, into the new 000 and plugged back in. The sound is clear, rich and full - low's are nice and clean - mid's and highs are really bright but balanced. Permanent install requires trimming the output wire (or leaving a 5 foot of cable coiled in your guitar). Sweet, sweet sound, really impressed. I'm going to buy another one for the D16M too...it's just that good.

Read all the reviews. I have other guitars BUT my wife bought me a "cheap" Fender Acoustic from a pawn shop for my birthday. She felt she got a good one because of the name. Not all wood by any means! Not much sustain. No ringing from the strings etc. I love her for it but I knew it needed a little help so I bought this Fishman.
When I got it I hooked it up temporarily in less than 5 minutes with the wire and end jack hanging down from the sound hole. I strummed a cord. Amazing! I immediately pulled out the old wooden end plug, looked at the directions to see what size drill bit I needed, drilled the proper hole, unsoldered the wires from the endjack, resoldered the wires I cut to fit, plugged the guitar in to the amp and WOW! This pickup has no "bad noise"! I held my guitar in front of my amp and no feedback.
I was very hesitant in buying this or any other soundhole pickup but I am glad I got this one. It makes this Fender sound great.

I purchased the 102 rare earth to put in my new eastman guitar and was I suprised, I've been playing for 40 yrs the last 30 yrs professional and in all that time never could find the acoustic sound that I liked, the 102 rare earth pickup has changed that, this thing is just what I've been looking for all these years, it's warm and punchy, great for acoustic blues, what a pickup.

After much agonizing about what pick-up to buy, I bought the Fishman Rare Earth Pro-Rep-102. Acoustic reproduction is great! Installation? A breeze. Remove the existing end-pin, put masking tape on the area to be drilled, use progressivly larger drill bits up to the 15/32" bit required. Remove the masking tape, install the end-pin pickup. Nothing to it! Then plug in and enjoy!
