Broke the G string the day I got 'em. Flea no way uses these. I'll stick to standard Boomers.

I needed a new set of strings for a custom '62 jazz bass for a musical I was doing and tried these on a whim. I'm not normally a GHS fan at all, but was quite surprised with these. They had a great tone, without being too punchy or bright. For a straight-ahead rock musical, these strings are my go-to now.

Hi I bought these purely by accident one day, but decided to put them on my new Washburn cb14 bass because I was getting some string rattle. Not only did I cure my rattle problem they just plain sounded better over all. They are also easier on my fingers, seem to be not as abrasive to the touch witch lets me play longer.

I was planning on placing these on an american 62 jazz bass to see if I could get it brighter.. the long scale set is slightly too short.. you can possibly tighten them up and the nylon thread "might" make it outside the nut but I didnt try. on the positive side, since flea I famous for stingray bass, (or was) and I have a 76 stingray, I ended up giving that a try and they fit just fine.. they also sound KILLER. the fact that the older musicman's are pure tone machines, these strings brought the best out of mine. I plan on opening up a set in a local store and placing it against a bass before I consider buying them for any longer scale bass. PS. try the DR bootzilla's while your at it. pricey but last forever and make you pbass pfunky

I'm not much into twangy, bright strings. The GHS "Flea Signature Series" strings do not disappoint. They are a bit bright when you first install them, but they mellow out quickly. They sound better on my Jazz Bass 24 with the active electronics, but, for some reason have not managed to gain my appeal on my American Precision. I tried DR strings (45-65-85-105) and simply did not like them (too bright and twangy--I actually had to adjust my string height higher for the fret buzz when I pushed them). When the Flea strings wear out on my P-Bass, I'll try Ernie Ball Hybrid Slinkys'. But on my J-Bass, they really shine!
