I've had this bag for about a month, and have done a few gigs with it (I have the 5-mic variant of this Gator GM Padded Gig Bag). First off, I would like to say that when I received the bag, it seemed very 'big', but in a good way. Very thick, stiff padding lies under a kind of outer shell that protects the bag really well. Quality looks pretty good too, good seams, high quality material (for price) and large, tough zippers.

The slips for the mics are plenty deep, way longer than any corded mic would need (I think this bag might have been designed as a bag for wireless mics). All of my mics are held securely. The extra compartment is really huge; you could probably fit a phantom power box or direct box of reasonable size in there! I use it mostly to hold adapters and such (could hold mic cables, but only 1-2 25ft cables. The outer pocket is nice, but things put in there must be fairly small/thin. You really don’t need it with that inside compartment.

My only concern is the top flap. Compared to the rest, it is quite thin, especially when you factor in that the tops of the mics press into the padding , making protection limited. But then again, how often does your bag take a hit from the top? Just be careful, and you'll be fine.

Overall a great value. Need a way to get all your mics and stuff in one bag ready to go? This is the one.
