I've bought several to use with my Manhasset Voyager stands. They are convenient, compact and a good value, but make sure you check the power cord to light socket connections right out of the box. I've had two that nearly caught fire because the cord was sloppily installed. The nuts that hold the clamp together need to be checked and retightened frequently. Monitor the weak points and this item will serve you well.

These lights are probably a good value & the 10 I bought have provided good light.

BUT-- Two have failed in the year since I bought them. The one that failed last night took out the house circuits- three of them. We kept plugging into different circuits! It took 30 minutes for someone to show up with the keys to the room where the panels were. When I took the light apart this morning I found super sloppy exposed wiring connected to the lamp terminals- It's a surprise we didn't start a fire.

If you buy one of these figure on re-doing the connections.

This is not an efficient music stand light. It will light a few laysers of sheet music (unevenly) but more than that on your standard stand and the light disappears. The clip stanchion is rigid so you can't tilt it forward. If you tilt the shade back a bit the light is in your eyes. It's not too sturdy and should not be represented as a "universal" light for all stands. The price is a bit high for the poor construction (the bulb socket/wire setup is a bit tenuous).

I am a working musician of 20 years with lots of theatrical/show experience. Some of the older and more traditional shows with over sized books are difficult to use with this light. The arm angle makes it difficult to turn pages and keep the music flat on the stand. It's fine quality and functionality, but only of your music is no taller then the music stand plate.

I prefer AC over DC. Does a great job lighting up my musical life. Adjusts easily. Good clamping power. Bulb is common enough that you won't have to special order it, which is lame. Two thumbs up.
