By the design of Gibraltar's flagship series bass pedals, when you take it out of the box, you just know this thing is going to do everything your foot wants it to. It's got a stealth design on the pedal board and a solid aluminum stabilizing "rock" plate.

The main concern with any kick drum pedal however, is feel. Feel is where the genius of the Gibraltar design teams shines bright. These drive systems come with loads of adjustability so you can tune and fine tune to perfection. The 9611 Direct-Drive system uses solid linkage to create a seamless, fast-paced feel pedal. The cam shape and linkage combine to deliver power and speed with seamless response.

Each adjustment can be made efficiently and on-the fly either by hand or with one of the 3 tools stored on board. Spring tension is easily adjusted from ridiculously high rebound to super floppy with the turn of a thumbscrew at the base of the spring. Beater travel distance can be tweaked with a drum key. The axle at the point under which this clamp grabs is also knurled for non-slip operation. This also provides for indexed tuning and is marked with three lines as reference points. Beater height is also set with a drum key and memorized with a memory lock. The lock makes quick work of setting up the pedal and ensures perfect positioning every time. The bass drum hoop clamp is tightened by a wing nut, conveniently positioned at the right side of the pedal board. Say goodbye to bloody knuckles from trying to reach under your pedal to attach it. And as if all of that weren't enough, the position of the beater can be moved laterally with a quick turn of an Allen head setscrew if you plan to use the pedal with percussion brackets.

The no-nonsense design of the Intruder shows these things mean business. The base of the drum pedal is now solid aluminum with a strategically placed bead in the middle. This ensures maximum rigidity while keeping the overall weight to a minimum. Attached to this plate is also the on-board tool storage with the included drum key and two Allen wrenches. The pedal board is also aluminum, eliminating any possibility of flex. Choice areas machined out of the pedal board save weight and add to the stealth look. The uprights of the Intruder pedal, when looked at closely have a slight curve backward (away from the drum head) to put the axis of the beater in a more perfect location than a traditionally designed upright. These uprights are bearing loaded for maximum fluidity. Also loaded with a die-cast bearing is the upper attachment of the spring to the axle. Putting a bearing in the spring ring minimizes wear and eliminates friction, adding again to the fluid motion. Each of these features enables the drive system to put maximum power to the beater (or beaters).

The double pedals all have a slave pedal with the same fixed Rock plate and the same adjustments for you tune to mimic your main pedal to a tee. The linkage between the two pedals has 2 case-hardened universal joints. Two length adjustment points allow you vary the distance between your two pedals from around 14" to 20". All attachment and adjustment points are double-locked with 2 drum key screws.

These bass drum pedals come pre-assembled for plug-n-play operation. Simply drop in the beater and your ready to get kickin'. The beaters are 2-sided for two vastly different sounds. A curved felt side or a flat plastic side will suit any genre of music. Combine that with a pivoting head and you get a perfect strike regardless of the size of your bass drum. Each Gibraltar pedal also comes with its own gig bag for safe transportation.

The no-bull design of the Intruder pedal is all about power and efficiency. The Intruder brings to the table both and looks good doing it. They will definitely knock your socks off.

I got this for my first double pedal and at first I was frusterated because I wasnt very good with it, so I started adjusting it and now I have it dialed pretty good. Its super fast, really smooth, and everything is adjustable. Not to mention its beautifully made and designed, and really cheap. Best double pedal I've played so far. I love it. It's worth every penny.

I got this for my birthday and took it to my drumest, put it on and got really frustrated caues I couldnt figure out how to adjust it. The book it comes with sucks, but its a great pedal. Its super smooth and super fast, once you get everything dialed in, and the beater heads adjust so you get a flat contact and the beaters have memory locks for easy transport and setup. Great pedal worth the money

After reading the rave reviews for this pedal, I really wanted one. The only problem is I play left handed. Gibraltar does not make a lefty version of this pedal (shame, shame Gibraltar!). But don't fear left handed. After studying the pictures of this product on-line, I was convinced if this pedal was disassembled and reassembled for a left hander it would work. So I called the Gibraltar "parts line" and asked if they sold any parts to convert this pedal. Not only did they tell me "NO!!!", they highly suggested against disassembling this pedal. They also told me disassembly would void the warrenty. Well, I did it any way. I am now the proud owner of a competely functional unwarrented left handed Gibraltar double bass pedal. Warning: I am a very good auto mechanic, and have a great collection of tools. If you are not mechanically inclined, don't disassemble this pedal.

My friend told me about the Intruder double pedal. He endorses Gibraltar and I thought he was exaggerating its merits until he lent me his spare pedal for a couple of gigs. I was so impressed, I bought one. My model has a new hoop-clamp, with the long adjustment screw positioned vertically, ahead and inside the right hand support. I dialled in my preferred footboard and tension settings, adjusted the beater to head distance, and the light action became creamy smooth with rapid rebound. The real surprise is its sheer speed. My pedal is a DW 9000, so I expected the Gibraltar to be slightly inferior, but only the price is inferior! The pedals are robust, and the footboards look to be machined from billet aluminium; the cut-outs reduce excess weight and improve looks, and the solid base plates eliminate flexing. The DW is a well designed pedal, but the Intruder pedals just feel more precise, and give power and sensitivity on demand. You could do a lot worse, at any price.

I bought this pedals two months ago, and they are awesome. They are very soft when you are playing too loud.... This is perfect for hard hitters like me... Another feature is that you can adjust almost everything from the mechanism, making this pedals very comfortable..... I recommend to anyone..... it worth it!!!!!!
