Black, Chrome Cover Creme, Gold Cover Creme, Chrome Cover

The P-94 is a unique combination that provides the best of both worlds - the classic Gibson P-90 sound in a traditional humbucker-size housing. Replacing a humbucker with the P-94 requires no routing or other damaging modifications to the guitar.

The P-94 uses the same enamel coated vintage wire and Alnico V magnets as the P-90 and comes in calibrated neck and bridge models for balanced output. Or combine the P-94 with an existing humbucker for unique tonal combinations.

This Gibson pickup has higher output and sustaining qualities than traditional single-coil pickups giving it plenty of bite when needed, with enough responsiveness to allow subtle nuances for enhanced dynamics.

Gibson quality control is lacking

I purchased a pair of gold and cream pickups because the black and chrome ones are on indefinite backorder. The finish on some of the magnet adjustment screws was blemished because it obviously fell out of the box that is only secured by a seal that doesn't really keep the lid shut. Both pickups had oversized mounting holes on each side that were far larger than the screws provided with them. The instructions show the wiring scheme for everything but the P-94s. I'm sure the sound is pretty good but Gibson's quality control is asleep at the wheel. For the money I paid for these, I expect to be able to mount them in a guitar without having to rethread the mounting holes and use non-standard screws.

Fatter tone than a standard single coil with nearly as much clarity. Love this in the neck of my epi lp with a seymour duncan humbucker in the bridge. Between the epi and my strat there isn't amything I can't cover.

P-94 set installed in an 84 Gibson Invader

Having recently purchsed an "08" Les Paul Classic outfitted with 496/500 humbuckers, I wanted a different, brighter, sound from my trusted Gibson Invader. I replaced the original zebra humbuckers with a set of P-94's and am tickled by what I got. Sure they put a hole in my wallet, but brought an old friend back to life! The combination is well balanced, and using both with the bridge tone at 10 & the neck tone at 7 holds a sweet rythem tone, yet still allows the leads to break through. If I were to replace just one, it would be the neck pickup, and if anything were to happed to the Invader, I would change up the 496 in the Paul to a P-94. If you depend on the bridge pickup, as I had in the past, do yourself a favor and put one of the P-94 pups in the neck position to open a world of sound. It may just become your main, picking up the nuances you just can't get with a humbucker.

Great Tone

I swapped out the stock pickups on my PRS Santana SE with a pair of P-94's and it is one of the best sounding guitars I have ever played. It really delivered the Gibson tone, but in a way I have never heard it before. Because I installed them as a pair there is no buzz and it is a high-quality completely unique tone. I highly recomend these pickups to anyone looking to upgrade. Also these were very easy to install.
