Recently i had redone a 92 Epiphone les paul custom I used this tail piece with TonePros Metric Tune-O-Matic Bridge (Large Posts) With GraphTech Saddles.. What a difference i absolutly love this tail piece.. the only thing is yeah it fit directly on the old posts, but i wanted to have nice shiney new parts.. The new bushings were to large to fit in the hole, and the new posts didnt fit the old bushings.. long story short i used the old post but you dont even notice the posts.. It all looks so awesome now.. Thank you for a great product

I bought a Gibson Faded SG Special about 6 years ago, (back when they were priced decent and were actually quality guitars)and I've left it completely stock for all this time. I finally decided that, instead of buying a more expensive SG, that I would just start upgrading this one, since I absolutely love the feel of this guitar. So, I put a bone nut on it, replaced the stock 490 pups with a SD 59 model and SD Pearly Gates. And finally, I replaced the stock stop bar with this TP-6 tailpiece. What a HUGE difference it has made. This guitar is now in better tune then it ever has been. I tune it up with the machine heads and then fine tune it at the tailpiece. It's also easier to make slight tuning adjustments while playing. Much more convenient then reaching up to the head stock. All Gibsons should come stock with this tailpiece. Buy it. It's worth every penny. You don't really need the posts that come with it though. It'll slide right on the existing posts of Gibsons with stock stop bars. They should offer just the tailpiece without the posts. Maybe that would cut down on the price a bit.

Right-Hand Fine Tuning - Cool Looks

I use the TP-6 Tailpiece on all my Gibson or Epiphone guitars.
It fits the post exactly and allows for right-handed fine tuning.
I first had these installed on my Les Paul over 20 years ago. The tech said it wasn't necessary, that the stock tuners were good enough, but I wanted the convenience of free-hand tuning plus good looks.
NOTE: Some say that these tailpieces improve tone and sustain, while this is highly subjective to opinion, I would say using common sense would allow you to see that if anything it might diminish sustain compaired to a solid metal stopbar tailpiece. Either way - all my serious guitars get them, kind of like trick hubcaps that actually serve a purpose. Dressy!

A MUST, maybe...

I installed one on my ESP Horizon Custom. I recently puchased an ESP Eclipse Deluxe, and have to say, if you're used to having a Floyd, and have a couple guitars with a stoptail, it's a must have. If youre' pcky about exact tuning like me, and don't want to fiddle around with a fractional turn up on the headstock. The only drawback is the pricetag. Plus you dont need the posts & all that jazz to replace your existing tailpiece, just the tail...

I put one of these bad boys on my Les Paul a few months ago, & at the same time I replaced the stock bridge saddles with Graph Tech saddles & haven't broken a string since! (& I bend HARD!) Where this piece really shines is when playing live. If you're a little sharp or flat you don't have to reach over to the headstock to make a tuning adjustment. In fact, you don't even have to stop playing because your left hand doesn't have to leave the fret-board. This in combination with the Graph Tech saddles, I don't even have to bring a backup guitar to gigs anymore. It's amazing.
