Just put these babies on my Gretsch Hollowbody 5120 and I could not be happier. Since I purchased this guitar (about 3 months ago) I have tried 5 different sets of strings. I could just not get the good clean sound I was looking for. Especially on the G string. I am by no means an expert, but I do know enough to know when it sounds right.

I was about ready to take my guitar in for a complete setup, even though I have done my own for years, and a friend of mine who plays and has a lot more experience than me suggested a flat wound string. I opted for the Gretsch since they got some good reviews, and well...I have a Gretsch guitar.

Nice clean full sound. I have never heard my guitar sound better. Worth every penny and the only string I will put on this guitar ever - don't care if they cost a bit more.

You can't go wrong if you ask me.

This set of strings is expensive but I am not using other strings ever!! I got these by chance at a local music store, they did not have any other 12s set in the store, so I payed for the back then "over priced set of strings" since I needed to re-string my tele.. I am happy this happened. These strings sound full of tone, sustain great, make hardly any fretting noise, are durable and will defenitely improve the sound of any guitar you have. I have them on my Std Strat, my Std Tele and in my Artcore As73. I like them more than DDs, ernies or Fenders (which I have tried all at some point). Get this if you own a hollow-body, if you dont, get this and your guitar will beg you to do some jazz anyways!!! Amazing quality, worth every cent!

I put a set of this strings on my strat, since the store did not have any Ds which were the ones I usually would use. I was p****d at the price, but it was either getting this set or going with a set of 10s.... This strings rule, I am happy I had to buy them, I don't care if theyre pricy, they are worth every penny and more....If you like jazz, blues or rock, do yourself a favor ad grab a set of this strings today. They bring new life to your guitar, I have never heard my guitar sound this good ever!!!

I put these on my epiphone PR-150 acoustic and they dramatically improved the tone of the guitar. I stripped the paint off and had martin strings and the cheap guitar sounded pretty bad. I knew it was the strings (although they sound great on my 70's ovation)and as soon as I put them on, it brought out the mids and treble with just enough bass and amazing sustain. Best buy for acoustics and hollow and semi hollow bodies. Wish I had tried these before I sold my epiphone casino. Can't wait to put some on my telecaster and hear them electrically. Get two packs to make sure if a string breaks because of your guitar, that you can really enjoy the wonderful tone! :)

Gretsch makes the Best Sounding, Smoothest, and Longest-lasting Flatwound strings on the market. They are tightly wound, producing great tone as well as super smooth surface...no "scratch" when you slide up and down. I wipe them down with a T-shirt after use and they outlast several sets of the competition's strings, which makes them an even greater value.
