I just got it in the mail yesterday, and I was doing a whole bunch of driving so I left it in my car and used it while I was driving around. After using it for a few hours I found that my fingers were much stronger and my guitar playing seems more fluid and faster. I also bought the things you snap onto it to help you build calluses. It also works pretty well. I would recommend it. Yes its not as good as practicing on your guitar, but I cant wait to bring this to class with me.

I certainly like the yellow kind that I'm using at the minute. Thanks to my working out with it for a week or so, I am playing longer, soloing faster, and fingering complicated chords better. Maybe one day I can use the Blue regular light tension exerciser. The only thing that worries me about these Gripmaster finger exercisers (especially the red medium tension one) is that before I realize it, I might have hands like a bodybuilder, and I would rather not have hands like that.

I just got the light tension gripmaster today and I can already feel difference in playing I also reccomend the rough rider callouse caps for it.

Heres the deal with all muscles: You train your muscles to initiate a response from your body, this response causes your muscles to to become, torn lets say, and then during resting afterwords, if you are in proper health, your muscles increase to handle the trauma in the future you just put it through. That burning feeling, thats your response at play. That means STOP now or stop soon! Then the most important part, REST. Especially if you use the high tension gripmaster, you are going to want to give your muscles time to heal and grow, were talking several days. If you pick that gripmaster up before they are healed, its no different than doing it with free weights, you are just re stimulating the response before it's even had a chance to heal and you are going to HURT YOURSELF. Anyone who uses this thing enough to get repetitive stress syndrome or anything is way overdoing it. Stop as soon as it burns, is sore, and you can't use it with proper form, and take your healing time off. Your strength will skyrocket. Just remember to put the pads of your fingers on top and "play it" like you would the guitar. I have seen too many players out there just fisting it, which is not anywhere as effective.

Awesome and cheap tool, if you use it right.

After recently having surgery on my fret hand, I had lost alot of the strength and speed in my fingers. Desperate to get them back to the point where they were before surgery, I purchased this (light tension, blue) in hopes that it would help a little, but it did SO much more. My fingers are now faster than they were before, and my hand isn't even completely healed yet! Now I'm forced to speed up my picking hand! I recommend it to anyone trying to gain speed and accuracy.
