Depending on where you place it, the Fatfinger can give you a nuanced or dramatic boost in clarity and sustain. I bought this because I had seen Billy Sheehan add weight to the headstock of his Yamaha to give himself more sustain (and maybe make it easier to do neck bends). I've been experimenting with it and it really has changed my tone. I don't feel as choked when playing. Overall my Geddy Lee jazz bass seems to just bellow with a a much "bigger" sound. In some extreme cases, I can even emulate a weak chorus pedal warble too. I think that it fits nicely on most bass headstocks. Other than the increase in sustain, it really doesn't do much else though... But, hey! It looks purdy.
