Easier than strap locks

I have had a mixed experience with these. They are not true strap locks but then they are easier to put on without modifications. On my Hofner Deluxe Bass they were perfect. I bought the gold stars. The button was about the same size as the one on the bass. I used the Hofner screws which fit fine. That way I did not have to use the longer Grover screws and possibly go in too deep. The buttons have a rubber washer that presses gently against the body of the guitar. The gold star screws into the button making it difficult but not impossible for your strap to come off. I feel better with these on and they look really cool. A problem came when I tried putting them on my Gibson SG Bass. I bought the chrome skulls for this job. On the end button I had no problem. I removed the Gibson button and replaced it with the Grover button and the Grover screw which was the same length as the Gibson screw. I screwed on the skull and it looked great. On the button behind the neck, the Gibson screw was shorter and thinner. I tried the Grover screw but it was too long. I don't like to make my own modifications and therefore I left well enough alone. The Gibson button remains......it's on the back and a Grover skull would not be seen anyway. All in all this is a good solid product, depending on the kind of guitar you own it can make your guitar more secure with a really cool new look.

I think these are a great product. This might sound wierd, but I feel more connected to my guitar with these locks. My strap is still directly attachyed to the guitar with no washers and/or bushings. It just feels better and more connected and a better vibe.

Simple and Effective

Just got these things to put on my Gibson LP and an Ibanez RG. They are a perfect alternative to having to do all the nasty hole/threading modifications that people talk of with Schaller's and Dunlop's strap locks. Couple these buttons with a quality leather strap and you've got a bombproof setup. When people talk about having to change the stock screws with the longer ones that come with the Grover buttons, they must be high or something - you don't even have to use the Grover screws, just plug your existing screws through the Grover buttons, add a dab of elmer's wood glue, and rethread like you were putting your old buttons back on. Work like a charm and now I've got a bomber strap setup without having to wonder if my Schaller/Dunlop mechanical setup is going to blow out in the middle of a gig. A+ product.

Killer Locks

I use these locks on all my guitars and my straps have never came off during a show. I can throw my guitar around as much as I want and the strap stays in place. Trust me it really blows when you're in the middle of a song and your strap gives way and your guitar falls and cracks. But with these you can't go wrong trust me. Besides I play death metal and what's cooler than a skull and crossbones?

At first, the pegs seem all right but after your strap gets worn and folded down by the oversized pegs it makes it easy to take the strap off even over the locks. The screws could fit better too. I got the stars and they are way too small too keep the strap on.
