This pad has good quick response as you'd expect. I was curious how they could make a "snare" sound out of it, but it works pretty well. I found to get a big snare-buzz you had to leave the adjustments wide open loose (it's done with some sort of pellets on a metal plate). It can't compare to a real snare of course but if you need some extra sound to a pad this helps, and needs no electronics.
