I just got this pad and it does not have a mountable thread on the back of it for cymbal stands. The wood around the pad is natural and not black like it looks in the picture. Just something to add for people buying this.

This is a great pad. I wouldn't say it's good for working out, but for practicing rudiments, it feels better than all other pads. It has a fantastic rebound, feel, and is quiet.

If you're looking for a workout, this might not be for you, but for practicing speed, rudiments and techniques, I don't think this can be beat.

Kinda pricey when they rang it up, but great product! I have the older tan pad as well, and it's all dirty and marked up. But this one always looks new thanks to the textured rubber. Its a fun thing to keep around. I have the smaller size one for portability so I can do rolls whenever i want. buy it!

I have been using a school pad for about 6 months, and now I am buying it. This pad is just phenomenal. However:

Do not get a double sided or 6-inch pad.

The other side may work your chops more, but you can get a workout just by playing faster and harder on the side that feels like a real drum.

Also, the small size caused the pad to bounce around when hit, not something you want when the purpose of the pad is to be hit.
