I was buying some off-brand foam earplugs from a local music store before I bought these. Not only are these Hearos a better value, but they are WAY more comfortable than other foam earplugs. They are totally soft and don't cause earaches, but the protection is outstanding. Do yourself a favor and get a couple packages of these.

After too many sessions with folks thinking louder is better, these are the single most important part of my accessory bag (other than the instrument stuff). The flesh color makes them difficult to notice in the ear, so you won't be called a rock & roll sissy. With a proper squeeze & roll, followed by a cram into the ear, within moments the modified sounds become clearer. One can hear glasses clink and people laugh during full scale musical bombardment, dynamics of music & vocals become more clear, and after the show the ears work like they're brand new. These things (the disposable kind) can be washed and set out to dry, so they can be reused. Highest recommendation!

Seriously, you're going to have hearing damage if you play loud a lot without earplugs like these.

To use them correctly, squeeze them down and then hold your ear up for a minute while they expand in your ear canal. To get used to the way things sound with them, practice alone with them in, go to some concerts with them in, practice drums with them in. A lot of my friends refuse to wear earplugs because they say they sound weird with them - they're just not used to them, and they're slowly and steadily gouging out their high frequency hearing for good. I once stood next to a powered-up F-16 (>100 dB) while wearing these (it sounded awesome!). I've used them to get over working in cubicles with noisy coworkers. I wear them nightly for rehearsal, gigs, going to shows etc. This package is one of the better values I've seen. I've found that if I Q-tip my ears right before each time I put these in, they last for at least 5 or 6 uses before they get gunky, which is pretty good.

i bought these things for practice with my band. we had a drummer that was so loud we had to crank up twice as high. so i got these. they never stayed in my ear when they were supposed to unless i jammed them in there. theyd fall out theyd be all disfigured in shape after on practice. i just used these big headphones that totally blocked eveything out and i was much happier. dont buy these please. get something better.

When i first saw them i was i little skeptical at first. But after i tried em i loved em. these things totally blew my mind away. they're jam packed with totally rocking features and they, rock so hard, i could barely hear. for 5 dollars these things are definetly a great value
