This stand is HEAVY... in a good way. This stand won;t be knocked over by any enthusiastic fan or clumsy roadie. It is made of solid materials, takes the place of your traditional boom mic stand without all of the annoying adjusting. This mic stand has replaced every mic stand in my bag. Love it!

As a very energetic front man I have a tendency to go through mic stands. But not with this baby - not sure what they made it out of but it feels like cast iron. This stand rocks! Only challenge is I am getting in shape moving it around.

The MS401B microphone stand is by far the most convenient and durable stand I've ever used. It fits in spaces where other stands would be rendered unstable and is easily adjustable to wherever you want your mic to be. In the past I have always had to use a gooseneck in order to be able to sing and play guitar at the same time, but the trouble with goosenecks is that the weight of the mic often causes the need for constant fiddling with the position of the mic. The Hercules solves that problem and if you wish to sit as you perform, the mic does not have to be smack-dab in the middle of your kisser. In addition, the mic clip adaptor makes setup a breeze while the clutch eliminates the unintentional unscrewing of the stand base while you adjust and secure the height of the mic. The engineers at Hercules have certainly spent time on the design of this product and the others they produce.

Bought a MS401B to see how it would work for miking my DW kit. Construction and qualty are top notch. Folding legs enable a small footprint so I can get close to the kit, and the clip-on mike holder enables adjustment in every direction. Weighs a lot, but folds compactly. A little pricey, so a 9 on value. Now I need three more (four, if I can't keep it away from the singer).
