The Single Guitar Stand with SFF on Legs features the innovative Hercules Auto Grab System (AGS) yoke: the arms turn in and up with the weight of your guitar to hold it securely and simply open up when you lift it off. The legs and all contact points with the instrument feature Specially Formulated Foam (SFF) rubber to protect your guitar's finish. Also features the Hand Grip Height Adjuster, which makes adjustments a breeze with a locking pin to secure the stand in place. A folding backrest flips down to support your guitar and back up for storage and transport.

All Hercules stands are safe for most nitrocellulose lacquer finish guitars*.

*Hercules tests for many types of nitro finish, however some guitar manufacturers change their nitro mixture often. Guitars should never be stored on a stand...always in the case.

Awesome stand!

This stand is well built and designed with almost every guitar in mind. Someone wrote a review referencing a flaw if the guitar touches the ground, that's the problem, if you let your guitar touch the ground, then you don't have the stand set up right. Just adjust the height of the stand to allow the guitar to sit off the ground and you'll never have to worry about it! This stand is well built and comes with great padding. I would highly recommend!

I love this stand! For basses, it has never failed on stage, in my music area. The grip and release is the best invention ever. The high quality parts and function are the bomb. I never took any other stands to live gigs due to not trusting them from tipping.

It folds down pretty well. But, I would rather have a bit more less smallness when provided the strong design.

A basic design flaw in the auto-grab feature

This is a well made stand. However, there is a basic flaw in the design of the auto-grab feature that renders it useless. Typically a tripod based guitar stand is most easily toppled forward, which is also the worst direction for a traditional open pronged neck rest since there is nothing to stop the guitar from falling out in that direction. Not a problem with the auto-grab in place though right? Wrong! The system relies on the weight of the guitar hanging down, so as the stand topples forward as soon as the bottom of the guitar touches the floor the weight that engages the mechanism is removed; the result being that the auto-grab arms open just the same as if you were lifting the guitar up. Since there is nothing holding the guitar from below -there can’t be in order for the auto-grab system to work – the result is even more catastrophic than the traditional design. Those at least have the hooked rests at the bottom, which make the tipping point harder to reach. When tipped forwards the Hercules stand, in effect, ejects your guitar forwards as soon as the bottom of the guitar touches the ground! The only way to counter this is to raise the height of the guitar. This slightly increases the time before the bottom of the guitar touches the ground and gives you a little longer to grab it before it is ejected. Unfortunately, this also raises the centre of gravity, thus making it easier to topple the stand in other directions. The only solution I can think of would be to include the ability to lock the mechanism in feature designs. In sum, the traditional – and typically cheaper - design of stand is far more secure.

After 25 years of guitar playing this is by far the best stand I've ever owned. I wished I would have gotten the model with the fold down head though for traveling.

I own two of these and I have had no problems with them at all. They hold my Bass Guitar with great ease and the weight of the guitar pulls the mechanism down to lock the guitar in place. It is a great stand for me.
