This is the best I have used, my musician friends all use them too. It is both light and sturdy (both!). It is width-adjustable and fits my huge modulus bass and my uke. Actually I have three of these stands cos they're so good. And collapsable and very portable. No sharp edges so safer for dings. Get it.

I purchased one of these at a local retail music store a few years ago and I LOVED it. I wanted to purchase another last year, but I couldn't find one. Last week, I went to a friend's place for an informal jam and he had 2. When I asked him where he'd purchased them, he emailed me this link. I'm thrilled. It's stable in the extreme and unless you are whacking stuff around on a crowded set, your instrument is in good hands. And if you're whacking stuff around, there really isn't much of a safe place for your instrument except it's case. Additionally, this stand folds into a nice flat profile that is great when you're stowing it in your gig bag and when you're hurriedly unpacking or packing up at at gig. Leave it to the Germans for simply beautiful.
