With a small outer diameter of .195" and a low capacitance of 15 Pico-farads per foot, it is ideally suited sonically and physically for pedalboards and guitar and bass signal chain use.

The Lava mini solderless plug is a unique 3-piece solderless connector produced by G&H Industries that, unlike all other solderless plugs on the market, does not use a set screw, but a special grounding sleeve that makes for a complete 360-degree ground connection significantly improving reliability and tone. The design of these is about three tiers above any other DIY solderless cable design. They go together easy, and are sturdier than the competition. The cable is very flexible and it's no problem wiring up even the tightest components.

I recently rewired my rack with these, and probably cut about 10 feet out of the signal path compared to what I had using premade patch cables. Frequency response is more even, and I have noticeably less noise. In addition the cable is small and it makes the rack case significantly less cluttered.

I've used Mogami, George L's, Planet Waves, Spectraflex, CBI, and Evidence Audio cables in various guitar setups over the years. All of them have their uses, and some are outstanding, but for any type of patch cable (especially when needed in a tight space) I have to recommend Lava.
