I used this at a gig recently. I was so disappointed with it. The basket does not tighten. The snare just sits on it. The adjustment was very lame. It appears that this stand is designed to be used on a toy drum kit.

i own the 1950's version of this stand almost same exact thing. i dont know how i managed it but i got my secondary snare stuck between to of the arms yesterday and fought with it for 5 minutes. every so offten you have to bend the basket arms up cause they bend down and the reso head touches the bottom of the basket :-s. for a quick fix this is ok for a long term compainion go for the ludwig accent snare stand.

It's Horrible, to say the least.

My venue I played at provided me with a full 5 piece kit and it happened to have this stand from hell as its snare stand.

First of all, most sticks have more features. For the money, you could at least buy a day's worth of fast food. It's got height adjustment, and angle. That's it.

It's thinner than most #2 pencils and I was hesistant right off the bat, upon seeing this disgrace of metal tubing. It was so-so (I have a 4in.thick piccolo which is something any stand should handle) until I went into the rimshot segment of my song. Like most people I rest my wrist on the snarehead and click the stick on the rim. The stand tilted over the first rimshot.

Along with embarassment and discomfort of the stand being shoved in my uncomfort zone, I also had to play like I was having a blood clots exam. The rotation adjuster pops open anytime you apply 1+ pounds of pressure to the snare itself. BAD IDEA.

For the EXACT same amount of money you can get a double-braced one made by various other brands.

My cheapo Export stock stand could probably withstand a nuclear war.

DON"T BUY!!!

Worst design, ever

This is probably one of the worst designs for a snare stand every created. First, it's not very stable. Any hard stick hit to any area not directly supported by the arms will cause the drum to lift out of the other side of the basket. Second, the arms usually buckle, allowing the snares and snare head to rest or hit the stand. And finally, the base is not that sturdy, either. All the way around, this was a bad design for a snare stand, even for a classical, beginner, or classroom situation.

Very Poor Quality

I have a snare stand in the exact same design as this, I replaced it with a different type. This is a very cheap design, that will literally “put the snare in your lap” …… by which I mean to say that after you play on it a while the snare falls of the stand! This is a very poor quality stand, I highly recommend you avoid it.
