Just bought a brand new Supraphonic. Only downside is the P85 strainer. It really is poor..more suitable for a student/beginner snare drum than a pro snare like the LM400/402. Had exact same strainer on my cheap student Acrolite in the early 70's. It broke within two weeks..Ludwig replaced it quickly for free.

This snare throw is pretty bad...and not in a good way. Unfortunately it is the only one (in this price range, at least) that will fit on my Ludwig snare. So I guess I'll keep forking over dollars every couple of years when it breaks, that or chuck the whole thing off a roof. Really, it's made of plastic and low quality metal that WILL bend or break. If you can afford it and have a snare drum that will accept it, get something much better.

Always does the job but could use a bit more strength in high torque situations.
