I've got this on two guitars. It is a little difficult to get it on at first. So I just leave it on permanently. No need to remove it. My straps fit on it fine. Personally, I don't like the buttons drilled at the heel.

this is a pain to get on and off and it gets black fibers all over you,i have dropped my brand new acoustic guitar 4 times in the past day just using this,its a great tool but needs to be back on the drawing board for re-design

I don't want to drill my guitars if the manufacturer didn't drill and mount a strap button. So this is the most secure method of attaching your strap other than a mounted button. I shiver at using the shoe lace method. The strap(s) fit very tight and there's virtually no chance of it slipping off.

If you want to upgrade from your shoestring, this is definitely a good buy. It is a little tough to get thicker straps on and off of the button but they stay on, no worries. The only thing I don't like about it is the way strap goes more horizontal over your shoulder instead of coming down to the heel. But that is of no fault to the product, it does its job, which is connect the strap to the headstock, very well. Personally, I think I'm going to have a button installed on the heel of my guitar's neck, I much prefer that feel, but to each his own.

This works really well on my Martin. I agree with the previous reviewer that a shoe lace or the leather tie that comes w. most straps will work fine. Only dislike is that its hard to get on & off the guitar.
