I just restrung my Seagull S6 with these and it really sings now. I was using Elixir mediums previously. While Elixirs are great and last long, the (initial) sound of these Martin Silk & Steel far outshines the Elixirs, in my opinion. The strings are easy to fret and play on, and fingerstyle guitarists will get a louder sound. If these strings last for me, I will probably go for them again, rather than the D'addario and Elixirs I usually get. You should try these strings at least once.

I purchased these strings awhile back and put them on a Yamaha G720s accoustic. Made it come alive with very good sustain and loudness even without a pick. I will try these on an old Ovation I have sometime for sure.

Tried a set of Silk/Steel strings out of curiosity. Normally prefer 80/20 PB's for good bass response and smooth top-end on my Martin mahongany-box. After installing and tuning these new strings, I was amazed at the clarity, warmth and response, but even more shocking was the volume and sustain I get from these. Even on this low-end Martin, the sustain is ENDLESS, and the volume is easily double that of any other string I've ever used. Playing pickless, they project boldly and warmly without harshness or any sort of a buzzy, tinny sound, something I expected from a steel string. They seem to stay in tune better than PB's, and so far, lifespan is adequate. These sound so good on this particular guitar, that I doubt I will ever string with anything else. The 11.5 guage is perfect for just about anything; not to heavy, not too light. Wish I'd tried these a long time ago - big difference!

These strings are almost magic. I have an acoustic guitar that I a paid 200$, and with these strings, it sound like a 2000$ guitar. The sound is very warm with just enough treble in my taste. These strings are easy to bend as on my Ibanez RG, so very useful for blues. There is 2 downsides. First, a set last me about 2-3 weeks (after, the sound becomes dull and very low). Second, the silver wrapping makes a "sticky" feeling on the strings. It take a couple of week to get used to. If these strings could last longer, it would be the only set I would put on a acoustic.

I have had these silk & steel strings on my Jumbo body for about a month. They have a few ups & downs, but overall really nice. First, you need very light finger pressure witch I like, and they have a brilliant mid-range brightness sound. The only two downfalls I see are, one is if you play blues and bend a lot the G-string comes un-wound right above the frets,( if you don't bend much; no problem ). Second is, they come a very bright silver color and now they are turning a yellowish color, ( but I do leave my guitar's out of their cases ). The price is very cheap, I recomend these for all-around acoustic playing. Very easy on the fingers.
