Great Alternative to 80/20 and PB Strings

These are great strings, hands down. Their tone is deeper or more mellow on the bass side. There's not the sharpness or brassiness you find with 80/20's or some Phosphor Bronze strings. I think some people confuse this with there being less volume. I strung my Zager ZAD-50 Dreadnaught with them and was very happy with the volume output compared to what some have suggested. These are easier on the fingers with their lower tension and should make string benders happy with their flexibility. These don't give you the traditional "twang" of traditional strings. These are great for those who want a more delicate nuances in their tone or a different colour than their buddies acoustic.

These are not bad strings but the dullness of the sound leaves alot to be desired. Yes there are easy on the fingers. But itf the guitar hurts your itty bitty fingers, play piano! These strings would fit perfect on Joan Baez's guitar. I can onmly say they sound like my worn out Elixirs. And Maritn still makes good strings but not these in my humble opinion.

Finally found what I've been looking for

These strings don't produce the kind of volume many players are looking for, but for me, mostly just a living-room sofa picker, they're just fine. Very mellow, and far and away the most comfortable strings I've played. I really don't want anything else for fingerstyle. It's great that they're cheaper than other brands, but on the other hand, they don't last as long as some.

All you have to do is try them...

A rather well known tech who was working on my acoustic (10 years ago) warned me if I didn't change the strng tension on my guitar, I'd have some derious problem in the future. Since it is my #1 acoustic and I love how it is set up, that would not do. He told me to try these because the tension was lower than that of a standard steel string set and man...all problems stopped there!

The tone is exactly what I'm after and they feel great! I only wish they lasted a little longer but who doesn't. Give them a try. You'll love them.

Of note: I now live in Sweden and found they are unheard of in Europe. You can order them but they cost about $15+ a set and must be ordered from Denmark.

Very Good Strings

Yes, they are all they're cracked up to be ... easy on the fingers due to lower tension, and the sound is really mellow, not brassy like the bronze strings. Bass is good, midrange is good, and treble not too loud. A real alternative to the bronze age.
