The only reason I didn't give these string a straight 5 rating is that they're not polycoated. Otherwise, I love these strings and have tried a LOT of different acoustic strings. I've been playing guitar for 40 years and I've not found anything better than these Martin Custom Lights.

After trying a number of sets of brands and guages of strings on my Applause AE128, and never being quite happy with the tone. I tried a set of these Martins, and WOW that guitar just woke up and started singing so pretty. And now every time I play that guitar, I get a ear to ear grin on my face! Martin Forever Now.

These strings are simply amazing. I recently bought a Yamaha FG75 from a friend, and the strings on it were over 4 years old. I needed some new ones and i picked these. Well, I made the right choice. These strings are beautiful. My Yamaha cost 75$ and with these strings on it, it sounds exactly like my friends 500$ guitar. You must buy these strings if you want a nice warm tone and long lasting strings. They're cheap too!!

I dont play acoustic as much as i play electric, so i never really had a preference in acoustic strings. When i bought my Martin 000-15 it came equiped with these strings and they quickly became my favorite. With only a few minutes of playing, I noticed a big difference in these strings. I was even more in love with these strings after i saw the price- not bad.

I was first using medium gauge martins but my fingers woould hurt just from playing a couple of songs. Then I tried D'addario Extra light but it sounded too plain. Plus the 5th string kept making a PING sound. So I tried a set of the bronze custom light and the tone was so much better. There was no pinging and they sounded warm. My fingers never get sore from playing. The go from bright to mellow after a while.
