From my experience, if I can't understand something, then it doesn't work. This gear is well built and has features that will let you know if a circuit is not wired correctly or improperly grounded. The filters do work, exactly how I don't know, but with my hybrid amps, I can usually find a plug that works cleanly.

This item is a gigantic waste of money. It does not eliminate hum or buzz through the electrical circuits. If there is a light on anywhere is the same building that has a dimmer using a rheostat, you will hear a very noticeable buzz. Do not purchase for studio use! Even if anything else in your building/home is off, this unit will not eliminate electrical noise/interference caused by your surrounding neighborhood. Simply a waste of money. A $5.99 power strip from Home Depot will reduce electrical buzz and hum just as well. Ridiculous
