I like this Musician's Gear folding stand. The rivets holding the legs and braces together seem to be substantial enough, although I haven't put the stand through many set-up/tear-down cycles. The tray's angle is adjustable. The only problem I've uncovered is that the tray opens a little beyond 180 degrees, so sheet music or books can wobble a bit without the flat surface. This seems to be a very nice, stable, middle-weight stand for the price of a light-weight model.

I have purchased several of these and seem to work nice for me, I usually always superglue the rubber boots on the foot of the folding legs so I don't endup loosing the boots, I really like the tube style legs over the flat metal legs. Well worth the money.!

A friend, who owns one, recommended this Musicians Gear stand. I got it and I like it! It is not too heavy (about 3 pounds) and can look like a traditional stand if you rotate those upper wings to about 4 and 8 o'clock. (My friend uses those to hold music in place when playing outside.) It also has two of those small tradtional wire page holders mounted just above the music ledge. Many metal stands weigh between 6 and 9 pounds, so this is a big improvement in portability. It has a wide tripod base for stability, heavy tubing for strength and folds nicely to 26 inches without taking it apart. Disassembled, it is about 22 inches long. Since it is taller and a bit bulkier than many "portable" stands, it does not fit into my little, old stand bag. (Big deal!) The only down side is that the places where you adjust it remain movable, so if you tilt the table to the angle you want and tighten the wing nut, the table will still move if you push hard enough. The same thing goes for the height adjustment. Many stands function this way. So far it has not been a problem -- even when the stand is supporting a fairly hefty ring binder holding several hundred pages of music the adjustments hold.
