Some of the things that I like about the Musicians Gear Mandolin Gigbag are (like I said in the title) it can be used with many different mandolin. I am currently using it for my electric mandolin. The other thing is that it is big enough to carry a folder of sheet music inside along with a mandolin so I don't need another bag for that.

If you are a professional mandolin player touring across the country, you already know not to buy this. I play in coffee houses and what not. This works absolutely fine for that. Its padded enough so it actually makes a difference.

Musician's gear is a good brand for those smaller things, like stands, cables. & cases. Nice price and decent quality.

I started taking mandolin lessons at my local school of music back in August of 2007 and I have to travel to and from there by bus and this is the best of my 4 cases for doing that. It slings over the shoulder very nice but its best feature is all of the room that it has inside. I carry my folder with my paperwork (sheet music ect...) right inside under my mandolin.
