Just what you need...

...to get the job done well the first time. I've used this stand in live, jam, and recording situations for drum overheads, drummer vocals, and choral/instrumental recording - it's great.

Feature-wise: strong/black finish, heavy/sturdy base, strong stand/boom, nicely-sized adjustment knobs, lockable swivel wheels, movable/removable counterweight for heavier condenser microphones, and a posi-lok mini boom. (Something that they don't tell you in the description is that, on the long boom section of the stand, they've included many little wire clips to secure microphone cables - no cables in the way!) The only thing I would change about this stand would be the size of its wheels (having larger wheels would be nice, but in the studio it doesn't make much of a difference).

If you do plan on recording with this stand, putting a piece of carpet underneath of the base isn't a bad idea to reduce the pickup of floor vibrations. (I didn't have any issues, but it's always a good idea!)

Overall, this stand is just fantastic. I plan on acquiring one of my own very soon (it'll be around for years). My friend did not hesitate when making this purchase, and neither should you.
