Okay, listen up. These pedals are OKAY. That is it. They don't adjust very well...and they require to much effort to kick smoothly. they are also too small to have any screamo-based hee-toe action. It doesn't matter how small your feet are...it won't work. But for the price I say this: They are okay for the starter who wants to increase his endurance and get the feel for double base playing styles.

After buying this pedal I am extremely satisfied with what I got. This pedal is heavy, strong, virtually silent, and very responsive. The beaters pack a punch and I find this pedal simply great. The price tag is very reasonable and after almost going with the iron cobra I am glad I saved some money and went with an adequate dbass pedal.

i got theses pedals when i first started to play drums sevean years ago and i'am going to upgrade vary soon. but if your just starting to play drums and you want to do double bass stuff buy thees pedals! just one more thing...they break kind of quick withen the first 2 years i had to get new springs and the chains tend to grind down a bit and throw off your balance on the pedals, but other then that their great!

eh, it was my first double bass pedal, so i was thrilled, but after a trip to the music store i see how much better i could have gotten for just a bit more.
one thing i hate is playing it isnt smoth at all, its annoying and you realy need to put forth more effort than it should take, making it increasingly harder to play fast.
i have big feet so, the size of the pedal is annoying. no heal-toe for me.
i ended up having to change out the springs and that helped, it became alot more adjustable (the tension) but still nowhere near what i wanted it.
i HAVE to wair shoes, skating shoes, because the right beater hits my left foot all the time and after using it the first time i had a bad bruise on the top of my foot.
all in all save your money, go for better, i realy wish i would have. i recomend going to a local music store and trying out some pedals to see what fits you, dont just order online when your not sure what your buying

Now i love PDP and DW so dont get me wrong its just this pedal that was dissapointing for me. I play a ludwig accent 5 pice set, if that helps anyone. Now then... With limited adjustability and poor responce i would not recommend it to a gigging drummer, unless used as a practice tool. The quality of the DP402L Double Pedal was not great to say the least. It is difficult to adjust anything on this pedal exept the spring tension. It's a chain drive but its a direct drive instead of a cam. The frame of said pedal was a single cast piece resulting in the post that holds the slave spring in place snapping off after one month of use. If i were you, i would spend a litte extra money and get the lefty version of the Pearl P122TW Double Pedal (the pedal i replaced the DP402L Double Pedal for about two years ago and still use to this day). I hope this review helps someone in making a choice on a pedal.
