I just purchased 2 of these tom arms recently, and I am very impressed with the quality and and fit and finish of this product. There is one thing you need to be aware of though. When you get these, be sure and check the Allen screw that is on the mounting base just behind the L arm. When I got these, I thought that they were defective. All it was was a loose allen screw on the tom arm mount. A little tightening and voila! Perfecto!!!! I don't know why they didn't tighten them at the factory but everything is fine now. I also recommend memory locks for the mounting bases...Great product!!!

I can't be completely fair in review, these are the first arms I've used on the first rack (used Gibraltar, arms were not included) I've owned. At the time of purchase, they were the most inexpensive of the 'swivel/ball' sort.

I use them to mount some old Tama Techstars (e-pads), they're large & fairly heavy for a pad, and I sometimes get excited & play hard -- no signs of weakness on the arms' part.

Cannot comment on strength of chrome finish, they do not get moved around or banged up in my modest home studio.

I set them up once, tweaked position a few times since, and they have held position.
