Far above your traditional basket stand, but not without its annoyances. I'm a perfectionist, and these stands are nothing if not adjustable (in pretty much every aspect), so getting all the pieces 'just right' can be frustrating, and seem to change with each set up (also, I think one of the guys has been fiddling with my settings when he handles them...). However, once set, it does hold firmly with no jostling about or fear of upsetting. I generally play...energetically and I have no fear of these guys not being able to handle it and keep my Congas under control.

Very sturdy, great for pretty much anywhere. Would be better if there were a function for quicker/automatic set up once you've gotten your settings where you want them. Also, carrying them, even folded up, can be ungainly as there's no apparent method for keeping the legs firmly folded.

Nuisances aside, this is almost definitely going to be the stand I buy when I replace my last old basket stand. Great value and very good stand.

I have reviewed a lot of congas stands. pearls stand is different and thoughful with equipment and player in mind.very adjustable overall it's my best choice.

I own the "Afro" version of this item (same as Pearl product). I use it for a djembe and can play standing or sitting. Much better bass response with drum in this stand than just holding or tilting drum on hardfloor.
