stay'n play'n tune

I love this tuner even though it takes a little longer to tune. But if you want to play perfectly tuned it's worth the time. I recently tried playing with a friend of mine who's been playing out for years. He's got one of those Boss TU's that he uses. We both tuned up and we were out of sync. Anyhow, he said my Peterson was junk so I tuned up on his rig. I used a Matchless and just a strat. He had his whole rig a LesPaul a Mesa head 2 cabinets and a boat load of effects. When I got back home with my rig I retuned to the Peterson, not only was my guitar out of tune I thought my strats sound sucked. Don't play games with yourself. You get what you pay for. Your gonna pay more for quality, don't skimp on your sound. Get the Peterson.

I own the standard peterson strobostomp. The only main difference I see is that this one is just a different color. It also seems more well built than the first generation blue strobostomp.
My main complaints on why I no longer own this.
1.) I wear polarized prescription sunglasses on stage, so the polarized blocks out the view of the screen.
2.) The loud annoying pop on the switch is something I hate hearing.
3.) It has alot of features which is good, but I prefer things simple.
I prefer the boss tu-2 because its simple, and can be seen with my polar glasses. the boss tu-2 does not have a loud pop when switrching on, its pure silence.
The boss tu-2 is far superior in withstanding abuse. The peterson strobostomp always has the switch button coming loose because I tune like crazy.
This works best for intonating guitars, or if you use different tunings.
Not for me, the first one I got failed when the screen tweaked out, looked like a demo that they gave me. I sent it in for a new one, same issues later came, so I returned it for a boss tu-2.
If you like it, then good, but its too much features for me, and the strobostomp, because the jacks are on the front instead of left and right, the strobostomp took more space on my board. I don't like using a larger pedalboard, I like a small setup these days. Its hard enough my tube stack is a pain to haul around.

Serious performance tool

As a performance aid, this tuner beats everything else I've tried. I use other tuners for other purposes -- studio work, portable practice kit, and so on -- but this thing is an indispensable feature on my stage pedalboard, and I don't think I'd want to swap it out. It's bright and easy to use, even in the dark. I can tune my 5-string basses in no time. Guitars take a little longer, especially in tempered alternate tunings (double-drop D, DADGAD, Dmaj, Gmaj, A6), but I can get my whole rack of instruments ready in a few minutes. I power it from a Gator DC power supply on my board. I send it one of the outputs from a three-way switch in my bass chain (Morley GL Tripler), which is dedicated to the tuner -- therefore, it does not sit in the signal path between the instrument and the amp. The tuner has a DI out and a passthru out, so in a pinch, I have extra signals I can send to an amp or a mixer channel. The tuning presets are quite helpful. I'm especially fond of the "stretch" bass tuning, which allow a bass to tune to an acoustic piano that has been properly "stretch" tuned. The range of "Concert A" values is nice. The tuner can also be "taught" to use a particular reference pitch. My only issue with the pedal is the plastic bushings and nuts on the input and output jacks. They tend to vibrate loose, and strip very easily. My solution was to find some equivalent metal nuts, and thread them on with a dab of silicone adhesive. If you don't mind putting out the money, this is a killer product for a busy musician.

Best Tuner Around

I love this tuner. I have had many, and this is the best by far. No more drifting needles or lights. The strobe locks when you are perfectly tuned. The accuracy is incredible. So much so, I have used it to intonate all of my guitars. The only drawback is the switch is mechanical. So pressing the switch while playing (for silent tuning), results in a "pop" being heard through the amp. Outside of that, it’s the best!

Like many others I always had the Boss tuning pedal. It did its job and everything sounded fine. Or so I thought until I bought this pedal. Its crazy how much better you sound when using this pedal, it really cleans up the tone no matter what style you are playing. My pedal is built well, the battery door is plastic but if you are concerned about that being road worthy and you are still using batteries period...you have other problems you need to address. I know the first versions had problems but this is the stroboStomp 2, I doubt people read and make that distinction so keep that in mind. Mine has worked great on my pedal board for quite some time now.
