Worth it in every way!

I bought these to replace the stock tuners on my Line 6 Variax 300 and was struck by how solid they felt in my hand. The peghead is a solid piece of metal that allows no give or wiggle room. The tuning buttons have a good 18:1 ratio so they tune smoothly and accurately. Since the Variax is piezo equipped I can say that I was pleasantly surprised by the improved sustain and tone in the instrument. NO SLIPPAGE TO REPORT, with D'Addario XL110's. NONE. Well recommended here!

I put these on a Warmoth guitar I built 5 years ago and after *many* dozens of string changes they still look, feel and perform just great. You do have to figure out how they work, though. The string can only go in one side of the tuner; if you put it in the wrong side it will get cut too short. But it's obvious which side is correct once you take a good look at it. Otherwise I don't know where all the negative reviews are coming from -- perhaps quality control was better when my set was made.

I put these on 3 of my guitars and I've had ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEMS with them. They not only look great but keep my guitars in tune and cut off the extra string easily. I've used gauges from 10 to 60 in these and they've held them all with no slippage, breakage, or fell out of tune. Every product can go bad but I've had these for almost a year and nothing has gone wrong. They work exactly like they should for a better price than any other brand. They were easy to install even though I had to drill holes on my Strat and Ibanez RG 7 but they fit right into my Jackson RRV. They look so good and work great. Buy these things.

Once you understand how these work you will have no problems restringing on a whim, They're as convienent as a microwave lasagna. I bought them for this very reason. They are very reliable too. They actually have a different size diameter hole on each side of the peg for the purpose of "auto trimming". Just be sure to hold the string you are changing a 'little' tought,turn the peg around to the larger hole to slide the string through to lock it down and turn a few spins to trim into tune.You will see what I mean. Once you have it down you'll love them. BTW I also use 10s and have no problems.

I have read other reviews that say these are the best things on earth, and I'm sure that may be the case....HOWEVER....Myself along with a few other people issuing reviews have seen the worst of these tuners. After I put these on my Warmoth neck the first 4 strings were in and locked flawlessly, but the B and high E strings would not stay locked into the post no matter what. I used .10 gauge D'Addario strings and these would not work. I promptly returned them for a second set thinking it was defective and experienced the exact same thing with the second set. These tuners are not dependable and are not quality regulated. Don't take the chance that maybe you'll get one of these sets that work like they are supposed to like I did. Go with Sperzel or Gotoh instead.
