I'm basically going to say the same stuff everyone else has been saying. The features on this are fantastic. The screen could definitely be improved though. Also the way you switch between chord charts, metronome and tuner are a bit difficult. Its a great tool, wish I had it years ago. But there's definitely some room for improvement. Unfortunately P.W. pretty much dominates the market on these things, so I don't know when we'll be getting one. I wish they'd make one that's twice the price but has an OS instead of it being like a traveler toy. And if it had a screen you could read... sign me up.

Conclusion: Good buy. Just not perfect.

first off. it is very handy. it helps me alot in jazz band. but the screen could be a little bigger, and easier to read. i would also like it if the tuner was a little better but i dont need it as much cause i have locking grovers. the screen needs to be tilted so you can read it. and i wish it came with instructions. but you'll figure it out. but overall i would recomend it

I originally bought this more for the chord diagrams than anything else, but in the few months I've owned the CM it's become an indispensable practice tool.

It's great to have around to look up new chords, remind yourself of ones you already know, or find variations of ones you already know (every chord has at least 3-4 variations at various parts of the neck). Beyond that, the metronome is easy to program and has a mute button (so it just works with lights), and though the tuner is pretty standard, hey, always nice to have one right there while you're practicing.

In short, if you have a serious practice regime you need to own this, and even if you don't, the chordmaster library alone makes this well worth the purchase... this is seriously one of the best purchases I've ever made as a guitarist.

I Bought this at my local music store yesterday and this was perfect for the person that needs to tune, practice speed, or just learn some chords. This has everything you need to practice, learn, or have fun with and I would highly recommend this to anyone who plays electric guitar.

Pros:Good has 3 in 1, backlight for the dark, and can plug in or use a battery.

Cons:could do with more buttons for easier navigation but not a problem.

Excellent little unit. Easy to use and navigate and has a killer backlit screen! Box includes instructions printed on it (nice "green" move). My only complaint: I would like to be able to download a .pdf manual that also includes info on what power adapter I can use with it. There is a jack for one on the side of the CTM but makes no mention of it in the manual printed on the box. Other than that small omission, the CTM is a very handy item. I have already used my CTM five different times in one week, as compared to my Encylopedia of Chords five times in 17 years!
