When I saw this cable I fell in love with it! I use an Ampeg head that doesn't have a mute button and I switch basses a Lot per gig. Going to my pedal board and turning on the tuner to then tun back to the amp to switch bases was a hassle.. I was able to go to my Bass stand and switch in less than 30 seconds!. My guitarist warned me that the switch side was delicate and that he had bought two of them and both died on him on the switch side... I am very careful with my gear and never drop the connector tips or even tangle the wires. I also started to get the same problem! audio going out in the middle of a song on stage! I thought it was the jack but it kept getting worst with all my bases. I will try the Warranty and see if it is really as good as it says in the package,,,

Its a nice idea, but honestly, a monstercable with a lifetime warranty (like most cables have) and using the tuning button/mute on your amp or pedal setup eliminates the "need" for the cutoff feature. Its cool, its innovative... and completely unneccesary. Not a bad cable otherwise. Don't know about any "issues" with the hinges...just tighten the jack on your guitar. Overall, good deal, esp when on sale.

I bought 6 of these cables, and at the beginning was very satisfied until I noticed that all my instruments started having problems with the input. My sound would crackle and go in-and-out. I discovered that the little hinge on the male jack ruins the input jack. The contact starts to get loose, and after awhile it becomes very easy for the jack to fall out of the guitar.

This is a great cable, especially for switching guitars. You lower your chance of blowing your amp to 0 and you don't have any crackling or buzzing noise when you switch. And it also has a nice strong build. Great for anyones use.

iv been using crappy cables that i thought were not too bad for as long as iv been playing guitar (4 years) and my parents gave me this cable for christmas and i plugged in my guitar and it gave my guitar a little more bite, it was considerably noticable. it also made my guitar sound cleaner, as in less feedback and added noise. it brightens, cleans and sustains rour tone significantly enough that i'm never using anything but gold plated planet waves cables in my rig from now on
