Bought this not long after buying my Gibson Thunderbird Studio. I'd been playing with a Danelectro, and an Acoustic Bass prior and was not used to the weight difference. This Gel Shoulder Pad has worked wonders. It does take some getting used to the additional weight and surface area on your shoulder. But you'll really appreciate it after a few hours of playing when you're not begging for a massage after.

When I first tried it, the strap definitely felt different. It put an additional few oz's of weight on my shoulder. But after a few days of getting used to it, I love it. It keeps your shoulder from getting irritated, especially from certain types of straps and if you have to hold a heavy instrument. It also slides pretty well so you can easily adjust it for your comfort. It's definitely worth the price.

I ordered this shoulder pad specifically for my bass since it's pretty heavy and I also use it for my new guitar since it weighs more than my old one. It really takes alot of the pressure off and keeps your instrument in place. It's very comfortable and you can put it over your favorite guitar strap rather than buy a new one with cotton support.
