I bought this after reading multiple reviews and recommendations from other drummers. With a little extra cash in hand, I bought it, since I had not replaced the stock snare wires on my 5.5"x14" classic Ludwig snare (dated 1/3/66). After some frustrations as to why the snares weren't making contact with the snare head, I saw that the metal cables that come with the snare establish a spacing between the snare wires and the drum head, physically lifting the snares off the drum. I quickly fixed this problem by returning to the mylar straps that come with the drum. After the quick fix, my snare sounds perfect. I highly recommend buying this product, but beware of the cables that come with it.

I recently restored an older generic steel snare. The original snare wires were awful. I was sick of getting cheaper wires that just end up losing wires after a few weeks, so I invested in some Puresound wires. Not only are they strong, but they made a cheap drum sound great. I noticed a difference in sound immediately. They are definitely worth the price.

I just put them on today and I noticed a difference. It made the snare drum a bit more sensitive compared to the stock. I loved the sound of the snare much more than it was before I switch them on. What's great about the pack is that it includes snare wires as well as instructions on how to properly mount snare wires onto your snare drum. The product is worth the money.

I decided to replace my old worn-out snare strands on my steel snare drum (from a Yamaha Stage Custom Standard Kit). I cannot begin to tell you how amazing these strands are, and the difference it makes in sound. Absolutely unbelievable. You know that nasty overtone ring you normally get from snare drums? Well say goodbye to it (well, except for outer-rimmed head hits). With good quality snare heads (on both top and bottom), these strands make your snare sound tighter, crisper, and fuller. If you have the money, buy these snare strands. You will not regret your purchase.

I'm not sure who it was, but about ten years ago, I got turned on to these snare wires by Puresound. They are amazing and make your snare drum sound amazing. True, the snare wires that come standard on most snare drums do the job but the PureSound wires are better quality and give you a much more even tone that enhance the snare sound. I don't understand why any drummer would not want to use these instead. Worth every penny IMO.
