Had a snare drum that was ringing badly, read reviews of these and bought two packs so I'd have extras. Didn't need the second pack. Two gels on my snare and it sounds like a million bucks. Well, the limiting factor is now the drum itself, rather than the ringing and resonance. It's fun to tap the drum, put one gel on, tap it again, then put a second gel on to immediately hear the difference they make. The fact that you can just wash them to make them sticky again is huge.

well...to start off with...i had one pack of moongel...for about 30 minutes...then i went to the store...and bout 3 more packs. If you don't get what im trying to say...these are worth every penny. They sound alrite with just one on each drum: snare, 3 toms: but for the best effect...here is my recommendation. Buy 4 packs...it may be expensive, but you will need it. Then, on your smallest tom, put one moongel, on your medium tom, put 2 moongels. On your snare put 3, on your low tom put 4. this way all the toms blend. that only takes three packs, but i also put 5 on my bass drum because it has a bad overtone. buy these.

This stuff is the best. I have used all kinds of things to muffle my snare and toms - duct tape, folded napkins, o-rings, external mufflers, internal mufflers - nothing else even comes close. Moongels come in packets of four - each piece of blue gel is about 1" x 3/4" size. You simply stick as many of these on the edge of drum as you want. I have found that 14-16" drums take 3 pieces each, while smaller drums take only 2 pieces. Works for cymbals too - got a ride that builds up too much wash? One piece of Moongel will take care of that. The gel sticks to almost anything you can think of, and if it stops sticking, just a little dish soap and water and they're back to new condition. No residue is left on the head when you pull them off, either. Highly recommended!

I have 1 on my snare, floor tom, and ride cymbal. They really help with nasty overtones. Whats even better is they don't leave residue and arn't an eyesore like duct tape. Also if they start to get less sticky just wash them with soap and water and somehow (dont ask me) they look like new and stick like they did when they were new.
