These may be the only stick you'll ever need. The "E" tip sounds very warm and mellow on drums and cymbals, but if played toward the very tip on a cymbal bell the sound is piercing. These are as durable as any other 5B. The grip of the sticks is perfect only if you have clean hands! Otherwise, they are slippery.

I have not used these in a live performance or any sort of heavy-duty use. I am only a hobbyist drummer. But I do a lot of stick work in my practice. I have play Pro Marks all my life but I am now a convert to Regal Tip. Having mostly played nylon tips I was intrigued by the ribbed tips of the E Series, which do produce a softer, wood-like sound. But it was the Regal Tip finish that sold me for good. It seems the more you sweat the more they grip. I don't know what they use but it works.
