Absolutely Fantastic!

These Remo Muffls are amazing! The purpose of having a full foam disk is to kill most of the sound coming from the drum, so unless you want that to happen, I would suggest trying a different form of muffling, or using a method already mentioned and cutting out a good bit of the middle of the disk, making it a donut. I've done that on every drum in my kit except the bass drum and they all sound fantastic. Whether you make it into a donut or not, the Muffls will definitely kill most all resonance coming from your drums, but the donut method lets you keep the tone of the drum.

These are definitely designed for practice or triggering, but if used creatively, they can really sweeten any acoustic kit's sound.

I have been taking lessons for ten months now, and I have always used the same snare drum, and it had a perfect sound with a nice punch in it! I eventually flipped the snare drum over to see what gave it such a great sound and saw one of these babies, along with this it also had a internal muffler, and a remo coated ambassador drum head as the batter head,

Good at what it does

In regards to the reviews complaining that these rings completely deaden your drums, I think you're missing the point of these, and that is that they're supposed to. They're meant to be put on either a practice kit, or an acoustic kit running triggers. I use one on both of my snares (which are triggered), and they work great. Since they fit under the head and not on top of them, your drum retains its feel while eliminating 99% of its sound. Highly recommended for anyone thinking about running triggers on acoustic drums.

I saw these and decided to try them after having tried a lot of the alternatives out there for muffling. I have to say I was impressed. The tone was really good and it didn't mess with my tuning when I put the drum dial on it. The best part is, there isn't anything in the way sticking to the head, and no one even knows it's there. Somebody was thinkin'!!

Great Product

Let me start off by saying that I own the muffle "RING" not the whole foam disc. Musicians Friend dosen't carry the ring. I use it on my bass drum only and it works fantasticly. ok, here is my setup, I have an 18x22" TAMA superstar bassdrum with a remo fiberskyn powerstroke 3 on the resonant side and a clear powerstroke 3 with remo kevlar falam patch on the batter side, I use iron cobra felt beaters. I have the "ring" muffles on the batter and resonant side. It gives me the exact sound that I crave, plenty of attack with very little resonance. It's a great product and worth every penny. Just make sure you buy the ring and not the whole disc.
