This bass head is absolutely awesome. It adds a whole new level of showmanship to any kit. Beware, however, of the finish. It is a smooth single-ply white, not vintage white textured finish as I had expected. Anything you have touching the bass head on the inside will show through up close(i.e. muffles, pillows, etc). Overall, decent sound from a single-ply bass head. Only comes with one of each letter, so if you expect to put 'JJ' or 'RR' or whatever, prepare to buy some extra letters. Other than that, buy it. I get tons of comments.

If you are thinking about buying this then I know I'm only speaking to a specific group of drummers. You only have one shot at getting these letters lined up right (the backs are so sticky I don't think you could remove them without piercing the head), but if you do, this head is a keeper. I was lucky enough to get it right on the first shot and I've kept this as my personalized head for quite some time. Seeing your own initials on your bass drum head makes you play better.
