not for recording!

This is a fine, well-made, comfortable stool, it's great for gigging, BUT! If you plan to sit on it while recording this IS NOT the stool you want. In time it will develop penetrating metallic squeaks which really aren't all that loud, but WHOA, your microphone will really pick them up! Of course you can retighten the screws but you won't be able to completely eliminate the problem. If you're a classical guitarist maybe you sit very still and it won't be an issue. But if you move around...

I love my stool, but I have to return it. I am 6'3" and with the tall version my feet were swinging 3-4 inches off the floor so I could not reach my pedals. I returned it and reordered the shorter version.

Very pleasent to sit on and very sturdy.

Have a Seat

I play keyboards and bass. The quality of Roc-n-Soc products is obvious once you see and touch them. I own a Tower Saddle Seat and a Nitro. The Tower Saddle Seat is ideal for guitar, bass or any hand held instrument. The foot ring provides a comfortable place to put your feet while playing, for keyboards however, the Nitro is better, hands down. I found that the fixed height of the Tower just wasn't quite right for my preferred height while playing my keyboards. The Nitro solves this problem because the seat height is adjustable. The Nitro, being gas filled provides a nice little cushion of air when you sit on it, this I find really comfortable, especially when I'm rockin'. For hand held instruments I'd recommend the Tower and for keyboards I'd recommend the Nitro.

I've had my taller model for more than a year now and am about to order the shorter one. I like the taller one so much that I want friends to be as comfortable playing at my house as I am. I find it very sturdy, comfortable, and made of high grade materials. Seemed pricey at first but so glad I got one - well worth the coins.

GREAT STOOL

Purchased the 29 inch stool. Upon its arrival I was extremely impressed with it. Just the right height for a 5'9" bass player to take a load off. The stool is very well built with the chrome legs, super comfortable seat and the swivel is nice too. I even mounted a boat bouy drink holder on it to hold my drink which is a short reach down. I highly recommend this stool as it is built to take a beating. Now I'm looking for something to pack it in to protect it from getting beat up or torn. My stool is 29" tall and is 20" wide. You can't go wrong with this stool.
