I used to break 9s every week, in some cases only after 2 hours of playing and they were not cheap brand names. I bend the string hard in all different possible combinations when I practice. So naturally I looked for inexpensive way to keep the strings on my guitars. When I first found this bulk string deal, I ordered 5 dozens, repackaged in the same way as retail strings set, coiled them in three inches diameter. I used them up in several minths, so I reordered, this time 10 dozens. I recieved 11 dozens from the store and it wasn't a mistake, it was shown on the bill saying no charge for additional dozen. This time I kept all the strings in the original package. Since then, the strings stop breaking easily. Now I keep the same 9s for more than a month, often two or three months. I don't know if keeping the strings straight is the only reason they last longer than before, but I'm not about to change it nor trying to find out other reasons, as long as they stay playing longer. By the way packaging the strings straight makes no difference in the sound unlike the store says.

I use these strings in my main and backup guitars, for everyday practice and live, great bright sound.
