I gave this a 5 all around because it can't be beat by any competitor for the price and Rolls deserves some praise. For guitarists, expect sure footed switching and simplicity. I used a rocktron all access prior which was great but very large, heavy, and overkill for guitarist. If you need to toggle between more than 10 sounds in a song, you might be a "footswitch player"... Dude, that show rocked lastnight!... Ya man!, did you see the that guy on the footswitch?... Awesome!!

This is a great little pedalboard, as long as you're willing so sacrifice the expression pedal. I use the Behringer, because I use both expression pedals constantly. I wish I had known about this earlier, I would have bought seperate expression pedals in addition to this because of the ease of use of this pedal. It's much simpler and less clunky than the Behringer, but like I said, it lacks the expression pedals and the TRS sends.

Rolls is one of those "fringe" companies that doesn't spend much on advertising. That's why they can offer great products at reasonable prices.

It's a little "mom-and-pop" shop that just quietly does its thing without any hype, or BS. They make a number of fine products that musicians need.

Not only is this midi-pedal one of the best, it is super easy to use and not overpriced, unlike some of the big-name competitors.

Unlike Behringer's pedal-board, this Rolls pedal does not utilize any peculiar protocols that inevitably cause confusion, disappointment and frustration. Although Behringer's pedal is also cheap, the manual is a nuisance even for midi-gurus.

The Rolls Midi-Buddy manual is only two pages. Even though I am a "Midiot" I was able to decipher and understand this thing in just a few minutes.

It isn't too big or heavy, though it is solidly built. Switches are quiet and easy-to-reach, even with my clumsy size-12 shoes.

!!! A really great feature is the Phantom Power via midi-cable through pins #1 and #3 !!!

That means you do not need a separate wall-wart or batteries if you use a device that has phantom power. Only one midi cable is needed to send patch-changes AND power the pedal. Cool!

Rolls ROCKS!

This is a nice pedal. I play in a working band and this is my controller for the effects. Works as it should. The pedals are large enough to get your foot on them without much effort. All around a good value.

This little unit is one of the best investments I've made recently. If you use a tabletop modeller Line 6 POD, J station etc. this thing is great. It's cheap, small enough for your pedalboard, easy to program & gives you 10 setups per bank! I use mine in my home studio and will probably buy another tonreplace the J8 controller I currently use with my live rig. It's way, way easier to program than the Behringer and is smaller & less expensive to boot. Highly recomended.
