I bought these for my fretless bass. They sound fabulous. They have a upright sound to them. A very mellow and "yeah" sound to them. I recommend them to anyone who plays jazz or laid back music. They would work for Radiohead sounding rock, folk, and some bluegrass.

Nice Warm sound

Personally, these strings are not for me and my genres and the way I play, however, they are still fantastic strings. The one thing I don't like about them is that they only do one thing. This is a really big bass warm upright round sound. No slapping, no high trebly solos. They only really do that well, but if you are into slow jazz or generally,a low, slow bassline these are the best strings ever, really. They may only do this one sound, but in this, they are peerless.

I have a 1975 ovation magnum I. and it came with flatwound strings so I wanted another set. I was looking for a nice set of strings and once I saw these nylons I had to get them. So I ordered them.

These nylons have a great acoustic sound to them, and me being mostly an upright player fell in love.

Overall great clear sound, sick look, good price.

Fretless Acoustic-Electric Bass

I purchased a Michael Kelly Dragonfly 5-String Fretless and the brass strings that came with the guitar soon started to mark the neck. After the first scar the strings came off and I started searching for the perfect strings I knew flatwound strings were in order. Rotosound promises “Super smooth with ultra low tension transforms any electric bass into a jazzy upright sound. Works great on fretless” and they certainly deliver on that promise. I bought this guitar to get an upright sound and with these strings it is a perfect combo. You will not believe how smooth these strings are until you try them.
